10 Things You Should Know before Digging Into Chanel perfume Macy's

Those pesky internet rumors are true: A new scent from Chanel called 3.5 eaux de parfum, a perfume scented with 18 secret ingredients, is currently available for $1,995 (and that's before shipping or tax). Chanel didn't include many details about the fragrance, like the actual scent, but it's apparently supposed to be a bit like the cherry blossoms of France. I have to say, I'm kind of fascinated. (And extremely hungry!) Read on to find out a little bit more about it, then shop it for yourself. It might not be something you splurge on often, but I bet it will be worth it. A little Chanel can go a long way.

10 Things You Should Know before Digging Into Chanel perfume Macy's

1. It has a cool name. The product description from Chanel describes it as an "aromatic white floral and exotic wood memory of a sunny memory." According to Cosmopolitan, the perfume is composed of 18 ingredients and, among them, are Rose Tremolada, Rose Absolute, Rose Petal Absolute, Raspberry Tincture, Anise, Juniper berry, Lavender, Birch Bark and Floral note.

2. Chanel isn't trying to be trendy here. Many scents and candles from brands like Dior, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton have more modern-sounding, innovative names than this one.

3. You'll smell like Chanel while you wear it.

4. The scents are layered and are combined to create a new scent each time you use it. The perfume has eight different scents, so each iteration will have a different smell.

5. You can't sample it until you buy it.

6. Chanel is currently only selling the perfume in a tall, black, glass bottle (which, FYI, costs $300 to $450 depending on the size and where you buy it). The brand notes that there are three fragrance sizes — 50 mL, 100 mL, and 200 mL — but only the bigger ones are in stock right now. So if you're looking for the smallest bottle of Chanel ever, you'll have to go with the 150 mL or the extra long one (the 275 mL).

7. There's a ridiculous amount of glitter. There might not be enough to go around. This isn't an everyday kind of fragrance, so you might want to buy the bigger sizes in case there aren't enough bottles to go around.

8. The price makes this perfume a pretty big splurge. There's no chance you can buy this perfume for less than $1,000, but if you want to mix and match it with all your other scents, it probably won't be that difficult.

9. It'll be a while before it hits shelves again.

10. At least it's something to look forward to. The other five Chanel perfumes that contain a whopping 65 ingredients range in price from $575 to $550.

See, it's totally not a big deal! You can enjoy this world-famous fragrance without needing to dip into your bank account for quite a while.
