Mobile Radiation / SAR Value DOES NOT Matter 




recently a study on radiation levels of mobile phones done in Germany has been doing the rounds a lot of media outlets have picked up on the story talking about how Xiaomi and one telephones have the highest our values this has driven a lot of consumers to be concerned well you don't have to be the radiation levels on phones absolutely do not matter and in this video I'll explain why hey guys ash here from c4e Tech and let's get started if you do end up liking this video please don't forget to turn on notifications by having that Bell icon first let's start with how radiation levels are measured they are quantified using specific absorption rates or SAR values they are denoted in watts per kilogram now there are two ways of measuring SAR values India and the United States follow the same methodology well Europe follows a different one so values between the European star and us or Indians are values cannot be compared Europe has a limit of two watts per kilogram well the US and India have 1.6 watts per kilogram now this doesn't mean Europe accepts more radiation it's just that radiation is measured a little differently for example the iPhone 10's max has a SAR value of one point one six in the US but 0.99 in Europe now it's the same right but they can't really be compared now this SAR value limit the one point six a watts per kilogram in India that's been desired by scientists and researchers it's been deemed as safe and no phone with a higher value can be sold in a market so if a phone is being sold in India you can be assured that it does not have a SAR value above 1.6 watts per kilogram now anything under that is termed as safe right you can definitely have a question saying hey ash even if all that's fine a phone having 1.5 watts per kg SAR value and another phone has say one watt per kilograms our value is in the lower one safe isn't the one with one watt per kilogram a safer phone to buy not really now it might sound stupid but a phone with a higher value does not necessarily emit more radiation to understand this we need to see how our values are measured in the first place now let me keep this simple when you are in an area with low connectivity the battery drains faster yes I'm sure all of us have noticed this at some point of the other why do you think that's the case now the answer is when the signal is low the phone needs to boost its reception in order to connect to the cell tower hence if it utilizes more battery now when it boosts its reception it also has to emit higher levels of radiation now the amount varies depending on if your phone is connecting to 2g 3G or 4G it also varies based on value located what's the signal strength they're sour values are the absolute worst case scenario the absolute maximum of radiation that a phone can emit Sun up going back to our example say a phone one has a SAR value of 1.5 watts per kilogram it performs worst on 23 hundred megahertz where and there is very little connectivity there and it hits the 1.5 watts per kilogram mark but with general use it's around 0.5 watts per kilogram now let's take home - it has a SAR value of 1 watt per kilogram but with regular use at MH around 0.6 watts per kilogram now in in the long term phone 2 is what's gonna cost you to absorb more radiation though it's R value is lower now here's the bottom line the actual radiation emitted by a phone is not dependent on SAR values but rather a host of variables including the pan the service provider the technology like 2g 3G or 4G how close to a cell tower are you located and more SAR values exist so that under no scenario does the phone emit more radiation than deemed safe by experts that's 1.6 watts per kilogram in India and the US so do not worry about SAR values anybody talking about it is probably not aware of how it works or it's just trying to grab attention get a few clicks so anyway a lot of you guys were worried about this report and asked me to comment on it so do I plan a video on SAR values in the past and decided to delve deeper into it and try to explain it more to you guys so that we can put this matter to rest
